Book Description

Sam and Hannah know how to have fun together. But then Hannah gets a new doll named Baby.

Baby goes everywhere with Hannah. When they play school, Hannah calls on Baby, not Sam. When they play jukebox, Baby gets to sing before Sam.

Sam doesn't like Baby at all.

In this true-to-life story, a brother and sister find a creative way to deal with jealousy. How can Sam, Hannah, and Baby all have fun together? The solution is simple and clever and surprising.

Here is a look inside the book:

The next day everything was different. Hannah played school only with Baby. Baby was a perfect student, but playing school with Baby was boring.

Hannah went into her tent, and she didn't call Sam. He didn't call her either. Playing tents without their cardboard tube phone was lonely.

Behind the Story

My daughter Hannah got a doll on her first birthday. She named the doll “Baby” and took her everywhere. Baby seemed like another member of our family. For many years I have wanted to write a story about Baby and here it is at last. As in most of my books, some things are true and some are made up. Baby never sang in a jukebox made out of a big cardboard box…but Hannah did! And Baby had lots of adventures that are not in THE TROULE WITH BABY. Maybe I should write another book about Baby. What do you think?
